I have been a Personal Trainer since 2008 and have trained in well-known Fitness Centers in North Carolina and Florida, most recently with Family Fitness Center in Dunedin.
I am Certified by Interactive Fitness Trainers of America (IFTA) and hold additional certifications as a TRX Suspension Trainer, Senior Fitness Specialist, Spinning Instructor, Aqua Aerobics Instructor, and Bosu Balance Core Trainer. I have trained clients from all age groups ranging from 15 to 90-years-old.
In May of 2012 I decided to open my own Fitness Studio, BodyWorks By Kathy. I'm very excited to share my modern techniques of training with you in a small studio setting. I want all my clients to feel that they get the attention they deserve with being taught in small groups. I will constantly monitor your form making sure you are doing the exercises correctly and safely.
I love TRX Suspension Training and find it to be one of the best workouts I've ever experienced! I personally guarantee results with this workout. By using a combination of the TRX, Free Weights, cardiovascular Interval Training your body will receive a well-rounded workout that is not only time effective, but also challenging and fun! I will train you how to use modern equipment such as the TRX Suspension Trainer, The Bosu Balance Trainer, Kettlebells, Stability Balls and The Surfset Board for your workouts.
My job as a Personal Trainer is to design time efficient routines that guarantee results without spending endless hours in a gym. It's what I call "smart training". If you want to lose weight, gain strength, improve energy, look your best, and become a healthier, happier you, then I will put you on the road to success.

I too have struggled with my weight and at the age of 45 I weighed 156 pounds and had a body fat of 53% wearing a size 12. I was tired of the way I looked and decided to join a gym. I went in every morning at 5:00am and worked out on the elliptical for an hour. Cardio, Cardio, Cardio, Right? Well after 3 months and very little success I decided to hire a personal trainer. She taught me the importance of lifting weights to build muscle and to up my metabolism to burn the fat.
After 8 weeks of training the pounds started to melt off my body and I was addicted to free weights! And the rest is history.
Now at the age of 57, I weigh 114 lbs. My Body Fat is 16% and I wear a size 2,
I have made being fit a part of my lifestyle and want to share what I have learned with others.
